My lvl 16 monky who was over 80% of the way to lvl 17 was pulled out of pre....it sux! Anet gave me the "we r very sry ...BUT, there is nuthin we can do".

So, for my 2 cents...they need to fix this prob. Make it so that both parties have to agree to enter the academy before the timer starts. Its just that simple.

just make it where you cant leave in party. entering into the academy is a solo think. two people and you get a "your party is to large" message. cause if someone is really lagging say with a 56k they may not have time to stop it. stupid crap happens.

I've only read the first few posts, but this is horrible! This is the worst type of scam, the scamer doesn't really gain anything from it do they? So they're just scaming for the sake of scaming... That's very sad.

Why have ANet do something that can be prevented by the player in the first place?

Here's whats going to happen if ANet does implement something to fix this..........
-Everyone complains about being pulled into post
-ANet does something to fix this
-Everyone complains about the fix because now it makes another aspect of the game a problem
-ANet fixes again
-Everyone still complains...........

Damn leave them alone... I'm sure they've got enough to do with EoTN and GW2 on the way.

this is because of people trashtalking about me, saying that i used an exploit (which is a bunch of lies... i allways worked hard for my gold tyvm)

i think by exploit they refer to whoever the hell bought the tomes to pre. people like dreamcatcher trash talked and accused me of 'being part of a group of people who glitch and hack' or something. WTF i would never do that.

this post itself proves how much i care about pre. why would i want to ruin it with tomes?

GAILE HELP ME!
Wow, that really sucks...look at what ANet does. They listen to bullshitters who spend time trashing peoples rep, then bans people instead of assessing more important things.

/signed to giving Fargus his/her account back.
Thats just not right. You don't ban someone until you have proof that they used an exploit. And even so, if theirs an exploit in the game, you shoulda fixed it before it got abused IMO, so its kinda your fault kkthx

**EDIT**: Okay, I was really angry when I wrote this, now that I have cooled down a little, Im going to say this nicer.

There are irresponsible people out there. They will exploit hacks and bugs. But it IS partly your fault. You, IMO should have people running around looking for bugs, whether they are players or devs matters not. ANd the fact that you banned Fargus regadless of he/she doing good for the whole gw community is...stupid. You should not send emails as serious as this back saying "put this on the forums" you should act then and there. I doubt someone (except for the above poster) would object to a glitch like this being fixed.

And what exactly do you suggest they do? Even if you log out quickly, there's still a chance you'll spawn in the PvP arena and by then it's too late. The only known prevention is not taking a secondary, and some permapres accepted one long before kidnapping into post became an issue.

Look, I'm not a part of the permapre community either, but that doesn't mean I don't care or will tell them to deal or adapt. Forcing a player into post against their will isn't a minor complaint about an unimportant issue; this is griefing a significant portion of the Guild Wars community just for the sake of being a pain in the ass. The griefer gets nothing but some sort of stupid troll satisfaction from ruining hours, days, weeks, even months of a stranger's hard work. Scammed people at least have the opportunity to get their gold/items back, but permapre characters can't fix the damage done when they're dragged post-Searing.

Besides, now that this is on Guru and being widely discussed on other fansites, word's spreading. More and more copycats with too much time and no respect for the desires/work of others are going to do this. It needs to be addressed.

You're wrong. This is not something that can always be prevented by the victim. Sure, you can avoid it and I can avoid it, but the average player who has never visited the forums cannot avoid it. If you do not understand what the issue is, then don't bother to post.

Like Genofreek already stated, a victim that is scammed outta gold has the chance to rebuild their wealth or can accept donations from guildies and friends that feel bad for them. A kidnapped Perma-pre is forever damaged.

Gaile has already responded a few times in this thread. Anet agrees that this is a serious problem and they will fix.

My pre character is a N/x level 14 at the mo but it's been there a long time and i wouldnt like anyone to whip me out of there against my will.
A fix is defo needed and the best suggestion i've seen up to now is to make the party size (1) for leaving via the quest into the accademy.

Until they fix this I doubt I will be helping many people in Ascalon. It just isn't worth the risk.

How twisted do you have to be to even think of doing this, let alone consider it...

To Even THINK of doing that can only be classed as sick, I feel so sorry for the victims. Hopefully they can find a solution. Pre searing is great and they should protect it greatness.

I've had a monk in pre for quite a long time wayyyy before a title was implemented, and though I think the title is stupid, I don't think it's funny to drag someone out unwilling.

If you have been playing long enough to make a level 20 in pre, then you shouldn't have a problem keeping from getting screwed over. If it's an easy fix to appease the whiners, then I guess the security would be nice; but if its a pain the butt with manpower and code then leave pre alone. Infact, please leave pre alone alone alone.

Additonally.... if you're going to dork around with pre..... please remove the Legendary Defender Of Ascalon title in pre. This addition has stimulated a great decline in the community there. It used to be much more fun before there was a bunch of nitwitts running around parrotting the phrase "I'm going for title."
